About Elkhorn Gardens
Elkhorn Gardens is a family-owned and operated in North Monterey, California {Elkhorn Slough Area}. Basically we are 3 miles inland up in the hills above Moss Landing with an ocean breeze.
Since our company first plowed a field in 1997, Elkhorn Gardens started selling dahlia tubers to American Dahlia society members, professional horticultural people and home gardeners across the United States and Internationally.
We sell extremely current, & show winning Dahlias. We grow 550 varieties of them.

We grow 350 varieties of Daylilies. We have always loved Daylilies because of their easy to grow and showing performance in the garden. A novice gardener can do really well with Daylilies. Daylilies bloom early June thru the end of September after the Bearded Iris and a great percentage before the Dahlias.
Daylilies have become more exciting in the last 7-10 years. Most people have not really seen how Daylilies have progressed in size, shape, and reblooming capabilities. you would be pleasing surprised. You can acquire amazing varieties in new colors with lots of variation going on in pigments, ruffles, and size. Spiders have become awesome!
In order to acquire these charming plants , one should purchase them from a Daylily farm.
We ship Daylilies across the United States with great success as a bare rooted plant by priority mail.
We are very much into Hydrangeas in our private gardens. Hydrangeas have a very calming effect on people. They are alot of show for your effort and investment. Hydrangeas make great cut flowers.
We are open to the public to view the plants in our display garden during the blooming season on
Sunday afternoons only- Noon to 5:00 PM.

We have 3 1/2 acres of private botanical gardens with a good 1000 species of rare perennials, bushes, natives, bulbs, collections, monocarpics, {etc}. for garden walks. We have acoustic concerts, art classes, and private parties happening as well. We have a small gift shop and snack bar. People bring lunch and roam the gardens. Most people stay at least 2 hours. Garden clubs come in groups to enjoy an afternoon.
